Time to Go

Of course I woke up thinking that it was our last day in San Francisco. I was sad, but we had honestly seen and done everything that we wanted to. The last thing I wanted to do was to go to the Fortune Cookie Factory in Chinatown. This place is on a sketchy alley that is sort of difficult to find. The factory was really cool, but it was much smaller than I had anticipated. I loved watching the lady fold the pancake-shaped cookies into fortune cookies after she put fortunes in them. We got some Chinese-style and American-style fortune cookies, but they got crushed on the plane.
We then walked through Chinatown before heading to the Wharf. I couldn't resist going back to Blue Mermaid Chowder House for lunch. We were pretty tired, so we sat at the bar, ordered some drinks and bread, and I wolfed down a bowl of chowder. We watched the last day of the US Open while I ate. We ended up staying for a long time since the US Open never seemed to end. It was nice to have a good reason to sit still and relax.
Wes was excited to try In N' Out Burger for the first time. He gave it a thumbs up. After we were both full, we decided to walk to Pacific Heights. We were hoping to see the homes of some famous people. We should have planned this trip better, though, because we had no idea where to go. After walking straight uphill for awhile and not seeing anything, we decided to turn around and head back into familiar territory.
We walked into the Fairmont Hotel, which is a very fancy hotel on Nob Hill. It was the first site of the United Nations, and there are many pictures inside depicting the history of the hotel.
We walked to the Sony Metreon, which is a giant entertainment center. It was neat, but we didn't have much time to entertain ourselves. Wes did get to try out some PlayStation games, so he was happy.
We wanted to enjoy one more last meal before we caught our flight, so we headed to North Beach. We walked around for a bit, tried some fudge, and had one last Italian meal. One last ride on the cable car
