I am so lucky to have a husband with such a beautiful singing voice. Wes sings to me all of the time at home. I just love to listen to his voice. Wes has been a singer for most of his life, and he was a popular singer in his home church. He just started singing in the ARP choir in September. Our church doesn't have many solo musical performances, but I always hoped that Wes would get to have one someday. Our church had a Christmas musical, and Wes was tapped to sing "Mary Did You Know?" This has always been my least favorite Christmas song, probably because I usually hear it sung by Kenny Rogers and Wynonna Judd. I was still excited for Wes to have a solo, though.
Wes was a celebrity! On the night of the program, everyone came to hear him sing. Wes's parents and my parents came, as did my grandmother and two of my aunts. Our friends Lauren, John, Jeff, and Brittany also came to hear him sing. Wes did an amazing job singing. I decided that I now like "Mary Did You Know?" because I love the way that Wes sings it. It's a really cool song if you listen to the words. I just had trouble listening to the words before because I couldn't get past the country twang of Kenny Rogers. Wes sang it so beautifully that it made me cry.
After the program, we all went to the fellowship hall to eat dinner. We couldn't find a table for all of us, so we sat in chairs in a corner. We were all so close and cozy. Wes was so blessed to have so many great people support him.
